We provide a place for cyclists to develop the physical attributes needed to maximise their potential on the bike
Head coach Chris Gibson has been a strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer for over 20 years. Working across multiple disciplines, from GB Triatheletes to Premierhsip Rugby players. Over the past 5 years he has become increasingly focused on training for cycling. Not least because its his personal passion but also because he knows the huge benefits all cyclists will gain from adding a strength program to their training.
Structured resistance training will provide adaptations resulting in increased power, strength and mobility. These improved physical qualities have a direct correlation to our performance on the bike as well as making us more robust, thus decreasing our risk to injury. Training is far more effective when built around an individual and we pride ourselves in making every program specifically tailored to each person, carrying out comprehensive assessment at the start of each clients journey.
Training sessions and plans should be tailored to the individual based on their strengths, limitations and lifestyle constraints.
This is the stable base from which to build cycling specific adaptations. Establishing adequate range of motion, strength and control through that motion is the foundation on which cycling fitness should rest.
While certain cycling injuries are unavoidable (the dreaded crash), having a strong, mobile body will go a long way to make you more robust, improving your resilience to injuries.
We appreciate how hard it can be to drag yourself away from that precious time on the Bike, and we wouldn’t be recommending Strength training unless we were sure about its benefits.
The programs we provide can cater for all gym set ups, whether that be a full gum membership or minimal kit at home. we can tailor each program to fit the individual and make sure the training elicits the best possible results.
